Bermuda-based e-commerce has won an international award from a panel of academic and entrepreneurial experts.

"Relax. No Tax!'' is the title of the First Prize-winning story by Rebecca Vesely of Business2.0 about the e-commerce start-up which is offering slices of Bermuda's cyberspace, known as eSuites, for $2,000 a year.

The sub-title of the article, quoted at the awards ceremony, was: "Government regulation cramping your e-business plan? Bermuda feels your pain, and has authorised EOCnet to create a no-hassle haven.'' SmallBizPlanet.com sponsored the awards in mine categories for what it described as the "best of the best'' business writing about the internet in the September.

Ms Vesely won for best international story. The majority of other winners were about more traditional topics, such as raising capital, human resources, billing and legal matters.
