top performers will appear in concert together here for the first time.

Shinehead, Cutty Ranks, Papa San, and Jimmy Riley arrived on the Island last night to prepare for the event being put on by T.O.C. Productions.

"Reggae Explosion '93'', to be held at Number One Shed, Front Street, tomorrow night, promises to be a showcase of local talent and a celebration of reggae music's versatility.

From the show's beginning at 9.30 p.m. with Bermuda's "Jahstice'' to the culmination performance by New York-based Shinehead, the audience should come prepared to remain on their feet.

With his current hit "Try My Love'', which has made the Top 10 R&B chart, Shinehead is guaranteed to give a dynamic performance.

But he will have no choice.

Jimmy Riley, Cutty Ranks, and Papa San will be hard acts to follow.

On his first visit to Bermuda, Jimmy Riley -- a Jamaican based in Miami, Florida -- is a ambitious singer quickly climbing the ladder to fame and fortune.

Dancehall great Cutty Ranks is also expected to wind up the audience with his numerous hits from his past and recently released albums.

Put this together with Papa San -- the Jamaican D.J. who made mega bucks from his recent "crying song''-- and Number One Shed may explode with excitement.

Proving himself to be in a class by himself Papa San has gone further than any other Jamaican D.J.

He has performed on stage with Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh, Young M.C., Manhattans, School Boyze and Jungle Brothers among others.

Currently he has three videos running on MTV produced by Ted Demme of YO MTV RAPS, making the important connection with the hip-hop community.

But it will Bermuda's own Jahstice, Daddy Clevie, Broke Pocket, and Jr. C who will start the fire.

Tickets at $35 for the event are on sale at Jeans Plus, Sound Advice, and Cut Creata Barber Shop.

Doors open at 8.30 p.m.
