Accordionists putting on shows
aboard the cruise ship Dreamward yesterday to give free concerts in Hamilton and St. George's.
The accordionists, along with singer Odd-Tom Risdal and the 14-member Scandinavian Accordion Club of New York, performed on King's Square in St.
George's from noon to 1 p.m. yesterday. And today they will be outside of City Hall from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m., and at Barr's Bay Park from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
The concerts, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the corporations of Hamilton and St. George and Scandinavian World Tours and Treecon Ltd., feature ethnic Scandinavian music, ranging from waltzes and polkas to Broadway show tunes.
Corporation of Hamilton secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said the group is encouraging everyone to come out and enjoy the "concert with a difference''.
A limited amount of seating will be available, he said.
The public is invited to bring chairs and dinner.
