Barnett returns home
restaurant experience to the Pickled Onion owned by Tandon Ltd. which also manages Hog Penny and Fisherman's Reef.
Thomas Carr is the managing director of the three restaurants.
Mr. Barnett, happy to return home to Bermuda, has spent the past 18 years in Canada. He attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre.
While he was a college student Mr. Barnett worked as a waiter in a popular, progressive Vancouver restaurant. Following graduation, he became a restaurant manager which kept him busy for a decade.
Mr. Barnett advised: "It was a tough business in Vancouver. They say the top three toughest places in the world for restaurants are: London, Sydney, and Vancouver in that order.'' Now, `The Pickled Onion' is the primary business focus of Mr. Barnett who believes "guests should have the opportunity to come in, or enjoy the covered verandah, sit down and eat within an hour at lunch time. Lunch is served daily and hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"We can afford the same time frame for the evening but hopefully the clientele will be more relaxed for dinner and have time to enjoy our special signature drinks and cosmopolitan fare,'' added Mr. Barnett.
Daily dinner is served 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.
