Bartenders' Competition set for Gosling's

Taste of Bermuda will hold their Third Annual Bartenders' Competition tomorrow.

The contest to see which of the Island's top bartenders is the best in Bermuda will take place at Gosling's on the corner of Front and Queen Street in Hamilton.

"Our local bartenders are true ambassadors of Bermuda and often don't get the recognition they deserve,'' said Taste of Bermuda chairman Graham Redford.

"This event provides the opportunity to network, polish professional skills and cheer on colleagues in competition before a large audience of industry peers and consumer culinary enthusiasts.'' As part of the Bermuda Culinary Team, tomorrow's winner will go to Miami, Florida to compete in The Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition.

The Taste of the Caribbean contest provides education and inspiration through seminars, workshops, tastings and demonstrations that are created to enhance performance, style and profitability in food and beverage operations.

Taste of Bermuda is a local organisations dedicated to assembling National Culinary Teams to compete in international competitions, promoting hospitality industry career paths and promoting Bermuda Tourism by showcasing talented local chefs and bartenders.

*** The Bermuda Train Company yesterday launched a new train service -- a car park shuttle.

To introduce morning commuters to the new Hamilton Train the company is offering free Bulls' Head Car Park shuttle service. The trial offer began yesterday and will continue until July 2.

The shuttle times will be at 7.45 a.m. and 8.15 a.m. The return shuttle starts at 5 p.m.

The train will stop on Par-La-Ville Road, Front Street, Parliament Street and Victoria Street.

The Bermuda Train Company has also introduced special tours which will run between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.. The stops for the tour will be marked by physical `Train stop signs' supplied by the Corporation of Hamilton.
