Beach, killing several passengers and injuring many more.....a horrific

last Friday. Fire, Police, Ambulance, doctors and staff from King Edward VI Memorial Hospital converged on the area to test their readiness to deal with such a tragedy. Our pictures show how they coped.

A grim task: Rescue workers discover a `body' strewn amongst the rocks of Clearwater beach and begin its recovery.

Down to the last detail: The organisers make the incident as real as possible with dummy babies that appear to have survived the crash. Two medics wrap the infants in heat retaining material.

Walking wounded: A medic provides First Aid to a mans who was one of the lucky survivors of the `crash'. Even the bandages are real as the incident tries to re-create a actual disaster.

Checking for vital signs: a doctor looks for a `heartbeat' as victims of the plane crash are brought to a central clearing area.

No rest: Stretcher bearers bring another victim from the crash.

War zone: A section of grass next to Clearwater Beach resemble a military field hospital as the Bermuda Fire Service. Police. St. John's Ambulance and staff from king Edward VII Memorial hospital treat `victims' of the disaster.
