Breast Cancer events

Month: Wednesday, October 6: `Stepping Out' -- 3K/5K Fun Walk for Women's Health and Breast Cancer will start at Barr's Bay Park during Harbour Nights at 6.30 p.m.

rain or shine. Funds raised will go towards the purchase of a bone densitometre used in the diagnosis of Osteoporosis.

Friday, October 8: Breast Cancer Denim Day. A donation of $5 for adults or $2 for children allows the public to wear denim to their workplace or school.

Funds raised will support the TB Cancer and Health Association's Beast Cancer & Early Detection Breast Cancer Programme.

Sunday, October 10: A Fashion Show and Tea, hosted by the `Just Between Us' support group, will take place at the Number One Shed on Front Street at 2 p.m. Tickets $10 and can be purchased from any `Just Between Us' member or Mary Williams at 236-4627.

Monday, October 11: The photographic essay of women who died from breast cancer in Bermuda entitled, The Faces of Breast Cancer, on display at the City Hall in Hamilton.

Thursday, October 14: A live breast cancer forum entitled, Women Taking Charge of Their Health' will air on ZFB/ZBM TV 9 at 8 p.m. The informative discussion about breast cancer will feature oncologist Dr. Sidney Lowry, Reach to Recovery's Mary Coleman, Just Between Us' Mary Williams, Dr. Marion Watlington and Linda Frame of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The event will take place at the Bermuda Cathedral on Church Street.

Sunday, October 24: A Memorial Service will take place at the Bermuda Cathedral at 3 p.m. The event is a celebration of the survivors of breast cancer and a remembrance of the women who died from the disease in Bermuda.
