"Umum-ism'' in the Mosaic Mixed Media Artists' second annual exhibition.

Umum, as defined by the Mosaic organisation, is a "movement in painting and performance art, initiated in 1993 in Bermuda...advocating art as a vital part of the development of Bermuda society and encouraging independent thinking''.

Entries must be submitted with hanging devices to City Hall on July 26 and 27 between 10 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. New and diverse forms of work are encouraged.

Acceptance is determined by a committee.

Mosaic hopes to "celebrate the rich traditions of various nationalities'' and ethnic backgrounds in Bermuda by presenting a range of art and artists.

The show will run from August 7 to the 14 at the Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery at City Hall and then move to the Clock Tower in Dockyard from August 22 to the 29.
