children over the Christmas holiday, will want to check out the Ministry of Opportunity, Development and Government Services' holiday programme for children.

The Community Education Development Programme will be holding a December Christmas Fun Camp for children between the age of four and 11 from December 21 to 31.

The 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. camp will be held daily at six locations throughout the Island -- the Salvation Army Hamilton Citadel, Harrington Sound Primary, West Pembroke Primary, Purvis Primary, Heron Bay Primary and West End Primary.

To register your child in the programme call either registration centres -- Community Education Office in Warwick at 2336-0829 or Community Affairs Office in Hamilton at 292-1681.

Parents should note that space is limited and is available on a first come first serve basis.

The fee for the full two weeks of the programme is $70 or $40 for the first week only and $30 for week-two.

*** The Bermuda Youth Library will be celebrating the holidays with a Christmas Party on December 19.

The two-hour party will get underway at 3 p.m. and will feature games, food and music.

All members, of good standing, who are five-years of age and older are invited to attend.

A $5 registration fee must be paid by Tuesday, December 15. The fee will purchase gifts for children on the anonymous Santa list.

Each child is also asked to bring a homemade Christmas ornament for the tree.

*** To accommodate the Christmas cards mailing rush, the Post Office will have new Saturday opening hours.

The General Post Office in Hamilton and all Sub-Post Offices, except Perot Post Office and Bailey's Bay Post Office, will be open to the public on Saturday, December 12 and Saturday, December 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

And since Island-wide deliveries will be made to households on these two Saturdays, officials have asked the public to keep their dogs and geese under control.

*** The Bermuda College Library recently announced that it will maintain its normal hours of operation during the holiday season with a few minor exceptions: Thursday, December 24: Closing at noon; Friday, December 25 and Saturday, December 26: Closed; Sunday, December 27: Closed; Monday, December 28: Closed -- a public holiday; Thursday, December 31: Closing at noon; Friday, January 1: Closed -- a public holiday; Saturday, January 2 and Sunday, January 3: Closed; and Monday, January 4: Closed -- public holiday.
