COC awards $10,000 in education grants

to 18 Bermudians who are pursuing courses at the Bermuda College, The University of Indiana Extension Programme at Bermuda College and Creative Computer Services.

The recipients were: Ms Tina Robinson-Vincent, Ms Lavonne Lee, Ms Teresa Trott, Ms Demika Swan, Ms Maxine Lee, and Ms Donna-Mae Gomes who are all working toward associate degrees in Arts & Science; Ms Jean-Marie Cannonier and Ms Phobe Saltus, studying Micro-Computer Business Application; Ms Rosharonda Trott who is pursuing a degree in child care; Ms Glynnis E. Swan who is working toward a certificate in bookkeeping; and Ms Desire Scraders who is pursuing secretarial science.

Having grants renewed were: Mr. Oronde Walker and Ms Renee Darrell who are pursuing an associate degree in Arts & Science; Ms Carol Edwards who is doing a data management course; Ms Lynn Douglas who is taking a nursery assistant course; Ms Pauletta Francis who is obtaining her master's degree in counselling from the University of Indiana through the Bermuda College's Extension Programme; Ms Anna Pennyman who is studying drug intervention and counselling; and Ms Maria Jones who is studying business administration.
