College scholarships fund overseas study

Recipients for the 1996-97 academic year were as follows: Chrystal Anderson, who will be studying BioChemistry at Dalhousie University in Canada, received the Sir William Stephenson Scholarship valued at $5,000 and the $5,000 Sanford-Shannon Scholarship; Jamila Simmons, who will be studying Finance at St. Mary's University in Canada, received the Sir William Stephenson Award valued at $3,000; Patricia Dill, who will be studying Biology at Mount St. Vincent University in Canada, received the Sir William Stephenson Award for $1,000; Oneia Trott, who will be studying Accounting at St. Mary's University in Canada, received the Sanford-Shannon Scholarship for $5,000; Heidi Roberts, who is studying Mathematics at the University of Reading in the UK, received the Sandford-Shannon Merit Award valued at $1,000 for maintaining a 3-point grade point average during the past academic year; and Vincent Bean, who is studying English at Clark Atlanta University in the US, received the Sanford-Shannon Merit Award valued at $2,000 for maintaining more than a 3.5 grade point average.
