Colour and culture add to school's annual fair

The annual Mount St. Agnes Academy Fair will begin this Thursday at the school ground on Dundonald Street, Hamilton.

The fair will feature food, crafts, games and a raffle for a fantastic array of prizes.

The three-day event gets underway 3 p.m. Thursday and continues until 9 p.m.

The hours of operation will be the same on Friday, October 23.

On Saturday the festivities will begin at 10 a.m., giving the public 12 hours to enjoy all of the sights and sounds of the carnival-like atmosphere.

Admission for adults will be $1, 50 cents for children.

*** Christmas is only 66 days away and for those who annually look forward to sending Bermuda Junior Service League Christmas cards to family and friends, remember to get your order in early.

October 24 is the deadline for those who wish to order their 1998 cards for the low price of 80 cents per card.

After next weekend, the cards will increase in price to $1.00 per card.

*** The Bermuda Society of Arts will be showcasing the talent of local teachers over the next couple of weeks.

The Teachers Exhibition is currently underway in the Society's main gallery located on the upper level of the City Hall on Church Street in Hamilton.

The exhibition, which runs until November 13, features the work of various local teachers who dabble in art in any medium.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.
