Community Art Day planned
on their artistic skills.
The Bank of Butterfield, Masterworks Foundation, and The Corporation of St.
George's have come together to sponsor the Community Art Day in Somers Garden, St. George's on February 21.
The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 21 in the park. And several artists will be on hand to give advice, including Diana Amos, William Gringley, E. Michael Jones, Eldon Trimingham, Manuel Palacio, Jill Raine, Gill Outerbridge and Maie Webbe.
Noting the success of the first Community Art Day held in Dockyard last month, Elise Outerbridge of Masterworks said a Sandys Secondary art teacher who brought her students there mentioned that everyone had "a great time. It's really something that is needed in Bermuda, to have everyone working together,'' she said.
More than 100 people attended the event in Dockyard and produced two large paintings which will also be shown at the Grand Arts Festival by the Sea to be held at Front Street on May 31. There will also be a competition for artists with all entries to be displayed at the Festival.
