The concert, in Victoria Park, will feature the Island's top gospel groups and choirs plus individual singers, and is expected to last two hours.

It has been organised by the Corporation of Hamilton and is sponsored by the Bank of Butterfield.

Corporation secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said that he believed the concert would appeal to people of all ages and he hoped to see a lot of visitors among the audience.

"We felt it was appropriate to have a gospel concert on Easter Sunday and we have come up with a programme involving the best of Bermuda's groups and choirs. There are some excellent groups on the Island,'' he said.

"The previous concerts were successful but I believe this will be the most successful because of the wide appeal.'' Groups include the Dynamic Voices of Praise Choir, Crusaders For Christ, In His Image, His And Hers, Touch of Brass, Miracle Temple Sunbeam Choir, Rejoice, Patsy and Patrina O'Connor, Apex Four, the Bethel AME Choir, Choral Dynamics, Blanche Musson, The Gospel and Jeffrey Place.

The Bank of Butterfield will make a donation to charity on behalf of all the artists who will appear free of charge.

The concert will run from 6 to 8 p.m., and audience members are invited to bring their own chairs and picnics, although Hamilton Lions will have their canteen nearby. Children are invited at 5.30 p.m. for an "Easter Surprise.'' Tomorrow's will be the third concert in a series which follows an old tradition of using the bandstand in Victoria Park for such events. The previous two concerts featured jazz and carol-singing at Christmas.
