by 1999 all of the group's five pharmacy stores will have been completely remodelled. The plan to upgrade the stores began last year with the overhaul at the company's flagship store, The Phoenix Centre. The renovations were designed to reflect the company's desire to provide customers with a superior shopping experience. For friendly and expert pharmaceutical help, the group's stores are located at convenient spots around the Island.
The Phoenix Drug Store: The flagship store is located on Reid Street in Hamilton. It boasts over 5,300 square feet of retail space and is the largest pharmacy in Bermuda. The Phoenix Centre has an average traffic count of between 2,000 and 2,500 people per day and processes more prescriptions and provides more over-the-counter-drugs than any other Pharmacy.
Woodbourne Chemist: Located on Woodbourne Avenue in Hamilton, the Woodbourne Chemist covers 2,800 square feet of retail space. Its main focus of business is pharmaceutical goods and prescriptions for senior citizens.
The Collector's Hill Apothecary: Located in Smith's Parish at the bottom of Collector's Hill, this is the second largest of the Phoenix Stores and measures about 3,400 square feet.
Mainly due to its location, its main focus of business is families, young children, babies and tourists.
Paget Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is located near Rural Hill, Paget along Middle Road. It offers its customers 1,800 square feet of retail space and has a heavy traffic flow mainly from the commuting public as it travels to and from work. The main focus of business served there is families, senior citizens and tourists.
Bermuda Pharmacy: The Bermuda Pharmacy is located in the heart of Hamilton next to the central bus terminal. It boasts 2,900 square feet of space and has a traffic flow of mainly business commuters, school children, and senior citizens.
Winifred Albuoy, sales associate at the Collector's Hill Pharmacy Pharmacist Rebecca Patterson, now employed at the Collector's Hill Apothecary, was the recipient of a partial scholarship sponsored by the Phoenix Stores Ltd. while she attended Boston Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Ms.
Patterson has worked at the Phoenix off and on since age sixteen
