share her expertise with youth, parents, teachers and the general public this weekend.

Dr. Brown will be a guest along with retired US Gen. Colin Powell at the National Education Council's third annual conference at the Southampton Princess tomorrow.

In one of several workshops to be held between 12.30 and 2 p.m., Dr. Brown will highlight school practices and curricula which reduce prejudice and promote equality.

Her workshop is entitled "Instructional Strategies for Academic Empowerment.'' Dr. Brown's career in counselling and human development spans 30 years and ranges from drug abuse, vocational, marital and family counselling to divorce meditation, conflict resolution and social and educational planning at city, state, and national levels.

Her academic career as a professor of Counselling Psychology at the university level spans 21 years.

Dr. Brown is also the former national director of Services to Youth for the Links, Inc., and a member of the Maryland State Department of Education's Task Force on Hate/Violence.

The Bermuda Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and teachers and students from preschool to the Bermuda College will celebrate the end of Mathematics Month with a display of students' work at Southampton Princess tomorrow.
