Daylesford Symphonia tunes up for concert

Classical music lovers are guaranteed a wonderful evening's entertainment next weekend when The Daylesford Sinfonia presents its Millenium Concert at City Hall theatre.

Guest conductor Chris Kitts will be at the helm of the programme which includes Rossini's Italian in Algiers, Bizet's Symphony in C, Prokoviev's Classical Symphony, and Respighi's Church Windows.

Mr. Kitts is a graduate of London's Trinity College of Music, and is also an accomplished violinist whose career highlights include conducting premiere performances, operas, symphonys, choral societies, radio and television performances, video productions, writing and conducting music for film scripts, founding a youth orchestra, and more.

Mr. Kitts holds an award from the Commissioner General of Canada for his contributions to that country.

The Daylesford Sinfonia, which is presented by the Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society, has earned rave reviews for previous performances, and this event promises no less. Orchestra leader is Rebecca Brown.

Concert dates are April 28 and 29, and tickets ($25) will be sold at City hall box office from next Monday, April 24 through to April 27 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. They will also be available immediately before the performance.
