SATURDAY, JUNE 3 St. George's -- 4.30 p.m. -- Performing Arts Festival (jazz and gospel) on Town Square St. George's -- 8 p.m. -- President's Choice Pops Concert, featuring Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. The Governor will be in attendance.

Dockyard -- 7 p.m. -- Performing Arts Festival (jazz and gospel) with arts, crafts, displays and demonstrations Somerset -- 8 p.m. -- Sandys Middle School -- Bermuda National Youth Jazz Ensemble performance. Admission: $20 SUNDAY, JUNE 4 *St. George's -- 5-10 p.m. -- St. George's Dinghy & Sports Club "Dockyard party 2000'' barbecue and entertainment Dockyard -- 2 p.m. -- Performing Arts Festival continues (jazz and gospel).

Dockyard -- 5 p.m. President's Choice Pops Concert featuring the Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir MONDAY, JUNE 5 *5 to 7 p.m. Mayor of St. George's Reception at Ordnance Island for Captains and Officers of tall ships in St. George's Harbour.

TUESDAY, JUNE 6 *11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beach party for trainees and crew of ships in St. George's Harbour. Fort St. Catherine Beach.

6-9 p.m. Heritage Nights -- St. George's Town Square WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7 6-9 p.m. Harbour Nights -- Front Street, Hamilton 9 p.m. Beat Retreat -- Bermuda Regiment -- Front Street JUNE 8-11 *Cyber Cafe at Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute THURSDAY, JUNE 8 Early morning -- cruise ships depart Hamilton, then tall ships proceed to Hamilton to assigned berths along the docks. Official welcome by the Gombeys during the day.

*5.30-7 p.m. -- The Governor to host official Reception for the ships captains at Government House. Includes Government, municipal, and private sector dignitaries, race officials and sponsors.

6-10 p.m. -- Tall Ships Festival on Front Street -- entertainment, food, crafts, shopping and fun for visitors and residents *7.30 p.m.-10 p.m. -- Captains' Dinner at La Coquille, Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Guest of Honour: The Premier. Attended by ships captains, local dignitaries, sponsors, and race officials.

10 p.m. -- Reggae Concert -- BAA field -- Choy Aming -- admission will be charged.

FRIDAY, JUNE 9 *11 a.m.-4 p.m. -- Fun water--sports day at White's Island for crew and trainees. Swimming, small--boat sailing. Light lunch available.

12-4 p.m. -- Open House on selected Tall Ships *6-11 p.m. -- Barbecue party for trainees at Saltus Field *6-8 p.m. -- Party for professional crew at Victoria Park, who then join trainees party after 8 p.m.

8 p.m. -- Ginger Pig Concert at Barr's Bay Park, hosted by Corporation of Hamilton SATURDAY, JUNE 10 *9.30 a.m.-12 p.m. -- Trainees Sports Day at the Bermuda College, Paget. Light lunch available.

12-4 p.m. -- Open House on selected Tall Ships.

6 p.m. -- Designated Hamilton streets closed to traffic.

6.30 p.m. -- Trainees Parade led by Bermuda Regiment Band -- Front Street, Court Street, Reid Street, Queen Street to City Hall Car Park.

7.30 p.m. -- Prizegiving Ceremony -- City Hall Car Park. Prizes presented by the Governor 9 p.m.-10 p.m. -- Cultural Talent Show for visitors and locals -- City Hall Car Park.

Note: Restaurants and service clubs invited to provide food stalls from 7 p.m.

to end of evening. SUNDAY, JUNE 11 1-4 p.m. -- Open House on selected Tall Ships Afternoon -- Comet race from Dockyard to St. George's -- also Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Races in Hamilton Harbour 4 p.m. -- Ecumenical Service "Blessing of the Fleet'' at the Flagpole on Front Street. H.E. the Governor, the Premier and other local dignitaries to attend. *5 p.m. -- Captains Briefing -- City Hall Theatre *6 p.m. -- Casual Supper Reception for Ships Captains, VIP's and sponsors hosted by the Mayor and Corporation of Hamilton -- City Hall. The Governor in attendance.

7-10 p.m. -- Concert in the Park -- City Car Park. Sponsored by the Bank of N.T. Butterfield. Hosted by the Mayor and Corporation of Hamilton. The Governor in attendance. Featuring local entertainers.

MONDAY, JUNE 12 QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY 7 a.m. -- Unberthing of ships in Hamilton commences. Ships will proceed to Great Sound. (unberthing will pause from 10 to 11 a.m. during Queen's Birthday Parade).

12 noon -- Start of Parade of Sail along North Shore, past Fort St. Catherine.

Best public viewing will be along North Shore.

4 p.m. -- start of race to Charleston or cruise in company US East Coast -- off St. David's Head. Invited dignitaries to view race start.

*5-9 p.m. -- Volunteers wrap-up party at Fort St. Catherine.

Start: The Portuguese barque Sagres aprochs the start line during the 1976 Tall Ships Race. This year the start will be on the Queen's Birthday Holiday, Monday, June 12.
