And the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) event will be attended by parade Grand Marshal Bill Pierpoint who will fly in from Newport Beach, California.

Mr. Pierpoint is an organiser of the annual Newport Beach boat parade. He will lead the 85 boats from aboard local diver's Teddy Tucker's boat Miss Wendy .

The Newport Beach parade inspired the BUEI boat parade.

Parade watchers will be able to relax in bleachers along the dock side of Front Street or enjoy food and drinks which will be provided by parade sponsors at Albouy's Point.

All money raised will go to help the BUEI, a non-profit organisation.

A dazzling display of fireworks will wrap up the evening around 8:30 p.m. from White's Island.

The Department of Marine and Ports Services will issue a notice to boats in Hamilton Harbour about movement during the parade.

The parade will get underway at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and make two circuits of the route, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile Harbour Road will become a one-way from Mason Road to Lover's Lane between 6 and 7 p.m.

Sailor airlifted to US An American sailor airlifted to Bermuda from a cargo ship at the weekend has been flown to the United States for hospital treatment.

Wayne Hamilton, 45, who suffered a severe foot injury, was taken by air ambulance to the George Washington Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. on Sunday night after spending the day in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A US Coast Guard Hercules plane and HH-60 helicopter from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, lifted Mr. Hamilton from the Chesapeake Bay , 250 miles east of Bermuda, shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Mr. Hamilton, the ship's chief officer, received a severe cut to his foot, although the US Coast Guard could not confirm a report that he had lost his foot.
