Film with a message
present a special screening of the popular film Warrior Marks.
The film deals with the controversial and taboo practice of female genital mutilation which affects 100 million of the world's women.
The documentary, which unlocks some of the cultural and political complexities surrounding the issue, has been praised by critics as "powerful: affecting; poetic and political''.
The film was later chronicled in the book `Warrior Marks', by Alice Walker and Pratibha Parmar, which tells of Ms Parmar and Ms Walker's experience in making the 1993 ground breaking work.
The picture's local debut last week saw record crowds converge on the Gallery and prompted officials to hold an encore screening tomorrow night.
Doors will open at 6.15 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $4 for Bermuda National Gallery members and $6 for non-members.
