Flip Nicklin to give whale lecture
whales tomorrow night at City Hall.
Mr. Nicklin has been working with scientist Jim Darling, who is studying the whales, and has photographed some of the new behaviour they have witnessed for National Geographic.
"I will be talking mostly about the continued research that is being done on the Humpback whale.'' he said. "In the last few years we have discovered a lot of neat and new stuff about these whales. Before Humpback whales were seen as mythical creatures, now we really know what we're talking about.'' With the Humpback population now back up to historical highs, around 15,000, scientists are beginning to see behaviour they have never seen before.
The event is presented by the Bermuda Zoological Society and sponsored by the Bank of Bermuda.
The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the Bermuda Aquarium, City Hall or at the door.
