Float meeting for Parade
today's Department of Cultural Affairs meeting.
The 5.15 p.m. meeting will be held in the boardroom of the Department of Community Affairs at 81 Court Street in Hamilton.
The theme for this year's parade is `Bermuda, the Last 100 Years'.
*** The local eco-cultural group, Rock Ramblers, will host their fifth open ended informal rambles/walk on Sunday.
Participants will meet at Church Bay in Southampton at 8.45 a.m. for a 9 a.m.
departure.
The 2.5 mile Southampton walk will take adventurers along Church Bay, Seymours Pond, High Point and back to Church Bay.
Organisers suggest participants wear good walking shoes and bring snack food, water, a small garbage bag for trash en route, a camera and binoculars.
A voluntary contribution of $2 will be gratefully accepted at the beginning of the walk since each ramble benefits a different environmental/cultural organisation.
All proceeds from Sunday's walk will benefit the Bermuda National Trust.

*** PRIDE Bermuda invites families to attend this weekend's 13th Annual Pride Conference at the Sonesta Beach Hotel.
The results of the 1997 school survey, "Implications for prevention in Bermuda'', will be presented by Dr. Julie Dunstan, research officer for the National Drug Commission.
Visiting motivational speaker Dwayne Bryant and local presenters Victoria Beecher, Mike Manhardt, Patricia Pogson and the PRIDE Performance Team will address issues in drug prevention.
The cost for the two day conference, which kicks off this Friday, is $35. For more information 295-9970.
*** The Annual General Meeting of Keep Bermuda Beautiful will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Display Room at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo.
The guest speaker will be Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott who will discussing `Managing Bermuda's Waste in 2000 and Beyond'.
