blood donor recruitment campaign.

The programme under consideration there is one of easy access -- persons can become blood donors by simply having their blood types registered with the Red Cross for use by health authorities in the event of an emergency.

Mr. Frank Gamble, director of Bermuda Red Cross Society, is spearheading the campaign.

Mr. Gamble says he will be using the basis of a successful Bermuda experience to develop a blood donor base in Montserrat.

"What we have to do is to get people to volunteer to be a donor so that, when the need arises, it can be met without stress and without problems,'' Mr.

Gable said.

The Bermuda Red Cross Society official is there for two weeks coordinating the programme.
