Benetton will move to Williams House, on Reid Street, in Hamilton, where its owner Ms Kim Williams already runs another clothes store, Politix.

Mrs. Amanda Outerbridge, Windjammer's spokeswoman, said the gallery takes over its new 1,300 square foot site on November 1.

The gallery will spend a month carrying out renovations and the new store should be open to the public on December 1.

She said the new outlet would sell mainly prints, although there will be some originals at the back of the store and other products "depending on what the customer wants''.

"We feel that this was an opportunity that came up and we took it to be in a good position for the future,'' she said.

Windjammer's current site on the corner of Reid and King Streets will not be affected.
