Gold Awards have been achieved by Ranger Guides Joanne Bielby, Raquel Emery and Sara Mancell, Northlands Secondary School students Rachel Lema and Brian Robinson and former Outward Bound participant Claudia Seymour.

Students from Saltus Grammar School and the Roger B. Chaffee High School will receive silver level certificates and others from Bermuda High School for Girls, Northlands, Saltus and Warwick Academy will receive bronze award certificates.

SNORKELLER STUNG AC Snorkeller stung A pain-wracked snorkeller was rushed to hospital this week after being repeatedly stung by Portuguese-men-of-war.

Police on a motor boat went to the woman's aid on Thursday. She was then taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she was treated and later discharged.

OFF THE ROAD CTS Off the road Antwan Jerome Lewis, 34, was taken off the road for a year and fined $500 this week after he admitted riding his cycle on Glebe Road while impaired. Police stopped him at 1.20 a.m. on May 29 and a test revealed he had 143 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

VISITOR FINED CTS Visitor fined US visitor Kim Gianino hid 13 and a half cannabis joints in her waistband when she arrived at the Airport on Wednesday, Magistrates' Court heard this week.

The 33-year-old tourist admitted having 6.09 grams of cannabis, which she said was for her own use. She was fined $600.

MISSING YOUTH POL Missing youth Police yesterday renewed appeals for help in finding 15-year-old Kenneth Boyles. The youngster has been missing from the Youth Development Centre since December 31.

HANDBAG STOLEN CRM Handbag stolen A burglar made off with a handbag containing cheque books and cash after breaking into a property in Spicery Road, Warwick, on Thursday.
