act in this year's huge Lilith Fair concert tour.

Ms Nova, the daughter of John and Gill Frith, grew up on her parents' 40-foot-yacht sailing around the Caribbean.

The success of her three albums brought her to the attention of Lilith Fair organiser Sarah McLachlan.

Each year, the multi-talented McLachlan brings together divas from throughout the musical spectrum in a celebration of female empowerment.

More than 150 female performers are on this year's ticket, including musical powerhouses Holly Cole, Missy Elliot, Erykah Badu, Sheryl Crow, Lauryn Hill and Sinead O'Connor.

Ms Nova -- born Heather Frith -- will travel with the three-month summer tour throughout major cities in Canada and the US.
