Heddington, Texaco's Bermuda-based captive and insurance broker received the award in recognition of the progress it has made since it began its Quality Initiative programme in Bermuda in 1990.

Texaco modelled its award on the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, which is the highest award for quality in the United States. The application procedure involves the preparation of a detailed report outlining the method by which the company integrates quality into all aspects of its operations.
