But producer Miss Christabel Albery assured residents that film-makers were sticking by their pledge to avoid a "Miami Vice'' type show full of thrills and spills.

Filming of the boat chase is believed to be starting next week, depending on the weather.

The movie, "Bermuda Grace'', is to be shown in Britain and North America as the opener for a possible five-year series. Before filming started earlier this month, Government officials said they had been assured it would not be too action-packed.

Among the stars is Miss Serena Scott Thomas, who played Princess Diana in a blockbuster Royal mini-series on NBC earlier this month.

Ms Albery said: "There is a chase in the story and we will be doing it, but it's not that major a scene.

"It's not the equivalent of boats speeding for ever and ever -- we're doing it one shot at a time.'' The chase involved "goodies after baddies'', but did not mean the movie had changed.

"It's no different from the way it always was,'' she said.
