The Joint Labour Day Organising Committee has planned a day full of fun activities that are sure to please the whole family.

And several other organisations have planned events for the holiday weekend like the Bermuda Industrial Union which will hold its 18th Annual Labour Day Banquet at the Southampton Princess Hotel this Saturday.

Cocktails begin at 6.30 p.m., dinner will be served at 8 p.m. and the guest speaker will be Premier Jennifer Smith. Tickets are $50 and are available from the BIU.

There will also be a Pre-Labour Day Worship at St. Paul AME Church on Court Street in Hamilton on Sunday, September 5.

Next Monday's festivities kick off at 8 a.m. with a Five Mile Walk sponsored by the Footstop Shoe Store.

Here are highlights of some of the various Labour Day events: 11.30 a.m. the annual march from Union Square to Bernard Park will be led by The Bermuda Regiment Band, majorettes and the Gombeys; 12.30 p.m. speeches and entertainment; and 8 p.m. Labour Day raffle draw.
