Library's lunch speaker
Friends of the Bermuda National Library's first annual Author's Luncheon.
Ms Shreve is the author of The Pilot's Wife, Eden Close, Strange Fits of Passion, Where or When, Resistance, The Weight of Water and Fortune's Rocks.
She teaches writing at Amherst College.
The Pilot's Wife was an Oprah's Book Club April 1999 selection and a movie based upon Weight of Water premiered in September in Toronto starring Sean Penn and Elizabeth Hurley.
The Friends of the Bermuda National Library raise funds and awareness to help maintain and strengthen the Bermuda National Library's Services and Programmes.
Ms Shreve will speak at La Coquille on November 17. Book signing and book purchases will be available from 11.30 a.m. until noon and after the luncheon and lecture which will start at noon.
People interested in purchasing tickets may do so at the Bermuda National Library on Queen Street from Tuesday through Thursdays between 11.30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. A donation of $40 includes the book signing, luncheon and membership fee to Friends of the Bermuda National Library.
