Opera, reggae at park concert
promoter Mr. Choy Aming's carnival dancers will just a few of the performers taking part in this Sunday's Concert in the Park.
The three-hour concert -- held in Victoria Park -- is one of the most popular and longest of the series sponsored by the Corporation of Hamilton and the Bank of Butterfield.
Corporation secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said the concerts provided an opportunity for the whole family to get together.
"And with this particular concert falling on Father's Day,'' he said, "we cordially invite all fathers to bring their families.'' In addition to performances by 13 groups, there will be a colouring competition for children.
"They will be asked to colour a beautiful picture of a gombey,'' Mr. Sherratt said.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition.
