seniors with the launch of an oral health education project for their care-givers.

The initiative, which kicks off today at the Victoria Street Clinic, with free screenings for seniors available all day, is part of Dental Health Month, said Senior Dental Officer Celia Musson Nzabalinda.

The initiative is one component of the Ageless Bermuda Smiles scheme which seeks to tie in May as Dental Health Month with 1999 as Year of the Older Persons.

The Health Department also wants the promotion to raise the awareness of the senior population regarding the techniques and benefits of proper oral hygiene and regular dental care. It also aims to gather information which will assist it in determining the scope and adequacy of dental services to the population.
