By day Mr. Palacio is assistant to sculptor Desmond Fountain, but when he is on his own, he can be found painting bold, energetic and vigorous abstract canvases and every now and then a lyrical landscape.

Mr. Palacio's work will go on display Friday until August 19.

*** The Bank of Bermuda and the Corporation of Hamilton presents the latest in the Concert in the Park Series -- a Country Hoe-Down.

The August 15 show kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Victoria Park in Hamilton.

In case of rain, the two-hour show will be held on August 22.

Organisers invite the public to pack a picnic, bring a blanket and bring a friend.

*** Boys between the ages of seven and 12 are invited to a special summer camp at the Bermuda Cathedral Hall on Church Street in Hamilton.

The camp, which runs from August 16 to 20, will be under the direction of renowned tenor Gary Burgess.

The 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. camp will cost $25 per boy.
