Mr. Teakle and three other experts in the fields of silver, painting and decorative arts were invited to the Island by the Gallery and St. John Ambulance to help raise funds for both.
According to Gallery Director Mrs. Laura Gorham, a "steady flow'' of treasure-bearers passed through, including Governor Lord Waddington and his wife, who brought in jewellery, silver and a wood-framed religious painting.
