Smith's celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday with their daughters Louise and Silvia from Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Jackson said their quiet celebration began at St. Paul's AME Church in Hamilton where "in the days before cars'' he met and married his wife Gladys. Mr. Jackson said there was no real secret to a happy married life. He and his wife took their life together "one day at a time. We also learned to settle our differences together. It's amazing how quickly the days go by.''
