BTC's Project Directory Recycle competition netted over 9,000 directories and Natosha Butterfield's Primary Four class learned a towering lesson, that by collecting the directories, they helped the environment.

This week, sponsors BTC, Corporation of Hamilton, Island Press and the Ministry of Works and Engineering gathered in Par-la-Ville Park, where the Millennium Fountain will be built, to congratulate Ms Butterfield and three of her students for their efforts. Paget Primary won the overall competition with 1,398 directories collected, with East End, Victor Scott, and Saltus Cavendish as runners up -- each with more than 1,000 directories.

Once the fountain is completed later this year, two brand new recycling bins adorned with decals declaring Paget Primary the winner will be placed nearby.

Corporation Secretary Roger Sherratt said: "We are delighted to be associated with this programme and we congratulate the students of Paget Primary for their efforts.''
