Plant now for a summer of colour

If you wish to take full advantage of the old adage, `April showers bring May flowers' you had better get out into the garden and start planting.
Although we are already almost half-way through the month of April, there's still plenty of time to turn your garden into a Spring wonderland with an array of beautiful flowers.
And with the upcoming Easter weekend, gardeners will have plenty of free time to devote to the new plants in their yards.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries the following flowers and vegetables can be planted during the month of April: VEGETABLES Beans, carrots, christophine, corn, cucumber, dasheen, eddoe, eggplant, muskmelon, okra, pepper, pumpkin, squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes
