Two top American singers are to perform on Sunday at City Hall.

Tenor Mr. Gregory Hopkins and soprano Ms Requithelia Allen are to be accompanied by pianist Ms Margaret Fox.

The 8 p.m. recital is presented by the organ fund committee at Christ Church, Devonshire. A limited number of tickets are available.

Mr. Hopkins, a native of Philadelphia, has performed throughout the United States and Europe.

After his debut recital in Carnegie Hall, Mr. Bernard Holland of the New York Times wrote: "Mr. Hopkins has the kind of big true tenor that should be encouraged. He also works hard to communicate with his material, not just reflecting back to his audience the music's surface, but also letting us know how each song feels and thinks. When Gregory Hopkins sings, people listen.'' With degrees from Temple University and Curtis Institute of Music, Mr. Hopkins recently performed with the Arizona Opera, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, and the Indianapolis Symphony.

Ms Allen has a vocal range that can encompass repertoire from contralto to soprano and span the music of three centuries.

A native of New York City, she has performed throughout the United States and as a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and the National Baptist Convention. In 1991, she won the National Association of Negro Musicians Young Artist Competition.

Ms Fox began her formal music training at Mount Allison University and completed a Master of Music Degree in solo piano performance and literature at the University of Western Ontario. She is a full-time piano teacher at the Dunbarton School of Music.
