Rap concert at Frog Lane
singer Isaac Hayes, is still on for this weekend, organisers announced last night.
The event, which was originally scheduled for the National Stadium, will be staged at the Frog Lane Field under the big tent on Saturday night.
And organisers -- Pro Exec Entertainment -- is assuring concert goers that they will be treated to "high level performances by these internationally-renowned artists''.
A spokesman for the organisers said staging the event at Frog Lane was cheaper and the venue would have "ample seating''.
But at least one Frog Lane resident made it clear that he does not want the event in his backyard.
And he is appealing to Government to allow the concert to be held at the stadium.
"We at Frog Lane have just about had enough,'' Mr. John Simmons said. "The last time there was a concert at the field there were parking problems, no Policemen around to direct the traffic, and loud music into the early hours of the morning.
"By having concerts on the field, Government is allowing Government property to be used to break its own (noise) laws.'' Mr. Simmons said he would pursue the matter today.
