Restaurant jazzes up dinner time
A popular Hamilton breakfast and lunch spot will now be serving dinner in the evenings.
The Windsor Garden restaurant, located in the Windsor Place on Queen Street in Hamilton, is now open until 10 p.m.
Co-owner Baskar Pitchai said a number of factors prompted the move.
"We have owned this restaurant for five years,'' explained co-owner Steven Shorter. "We serve a full breakfast and lunch and a lot of our clientele kept telling us that we should do dinner as well.
"After hearing these comments for five years we decided to go for it. We started serving dinner on April 30.'' The Queen Street doors of the Windsor Place are now open at night to accommodate the restaurant's Monday to Saturday, 6-to-10 p.m. dinner hours.
Evening patrons will discover a dinner menu which includes favourites like an eight ounce New York steak, Rock Fish in a lemon-butter sauce and grilled chicken breast in a mushroom cream sauce.
And in their bid to please their customers, the owners said they would whip something up for those patrons that could not find anything on the menu that appealed to them.
"We are happy to do anything that is not on the menu as long as we have the ingredients,'' he explained. "We never say no.'' The Windsor Gardens also offers a variety of tasty pastries and desserts, sure to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth.
"We have put in a stereo system and we only play jazz,'' Mr. Shorter added.
"What could be better than a nice steak, a glass of wine and a little jazz.'' Open for dinner: The Windsor Restaurant in the Windsor Place on Queen Street is now open for dinner. Pictured in the restaurant are owners Steven Shorter and Baskar Pitchai.
