Rhodes Scholar named
former Warwick Academy student has been named as the 1995 Rhodes Scholar.
Miss Katherine Frances Hubbard attended Warwick Academy and graduated in 1988 with 12 GCE `O' levels.
Miss Hubbard, who was head girl at the school, went on to the University of Newcastle to pursue her life-long ambition in the study of medicine.
She graduated from the University of Newcastle in last July with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with distinction.
Miss Hubbard is completing two six-month internships at hospitals in Newcastle and Durham.
In addition to participating in a number of activities at the University of Newcastle, she was also a member of the viola section of the university's orchestra.
Miss Hubbard, who has been accepted at Magdalen College and by the Faculty of Clinical Medicine, was keen to pursue a course of research at Oxford with a view to completing a doctorate.
