Lathan, a familiar sight during the nightly sports segment, abruptly relieved himself of his duties although the circumstances surrounding his departure are unknown.

Owner Kenny DeFontes confirmed that Lathan is no longer with the company but would not divulge any further details.

"He left because he wanted to leave,'' said DeFontes, "and anything further should come from him.'' Lathan could not be reached for comment.

His tenure at VSB followed stints at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company and The Royal Gazette Ltd.
