Rock Fever is the alternative

interesting people without having to endure a crowded bar and consume alcohol? Rock Fever, a club which aims to encourage friendships between established locals and the Island's new residents, will hold a free Coffee House this Saturday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

"It's a drop-in centre,'' said organiser Shirley Cook. "It is an alternative to clubs and pubs for visitors, expatriates and locals.

"It's a place where people can just chill out.'' The Coffee House will be held in the lower hall of the Paget Gospel Chapel on Middle Road and will feature music, games and lively conversation.

*** The International American Women's Club invite all to attend their 4th annual art show entitled, The Leisure Artists Exhibition.

The exhibition runs from April 23 to May 7 at The Bermuda Society of Arts at City Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

The International American Women's Club-Bermuda was formed in 1981 and includes women from many cultures and countries of the world.

The Leisure Artists Group is one of the many groups organised by and for Club members. Its members, who are all amateur artists, meet once a week to paint and to share creative experiences and knowledge together and with regularly visiting professional artists.

Most of the show's proceeds will be donated to local charities.

*** The Bermuda Police Marine Section would like to remind boat owners and operators to register their vessels with Marine and Ports.

P.c. Alan Oliver said that upon registration, people should ensure that the 1999 decal is affixed to the starboard bow of the vessel. Registration numbers are also to be displayed on both port and starboard sides of the vessel.

The new year of registration for all vessels begins on April 1.

*** Channelled Source Productions are proud to present Dr. Craig Karpilow M.D. for a two day workshop this weekend on holistic and alternative medicine.

The workshops will offer demonstrations and in-depth discussions of selected clinical modalities and support systems.

Dr. Karpilow is a medical doctor who maintains a very strong holistic and alternative approach towards health care.

The two-day workshop will take place at the Bermuda College Teleconference Room in South Hall Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The $200 workshops will include breakfast and lunch on both days and will conclude with a group meditation followed by a Vegetarian Indian Supper.

Participants should wear comfortable, casual clothing and bring along a towel or mat.
