Organisers of the XL Tennis Classic and one of its main sponsors -- Chips Ltd.

-- are hosting a "fastest serve'' contest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from today through Friday.

For $3 any member of the public will be allowed three serves and their performance will be measured by a radar gun which measures the serve in miles per hour.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Patients Assistance League Service or PALS, Mrs. Karen Sinclair said.

On Sunday, before the tennis tournament finals match, a fastest serve shoot out will be held between the fastest servers in the under 18 category and the fastest in the over 18 category.

The winner will be named "Fastest Server in Bermuda'', Mrs. Sinclair added.

Participants will not have to be dressed in tennis gear or own a racket. One will be provided at the courts.
