Agape House, the Packwood Home, the Council Partners, the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association, STAR and the St. Brendan's Hospital Amenities Committee each received money from the committee to help with their work.
The Committee raised $7,500 at its 15th annual Springtime Charity Morning Coffee on March 26 at the Sonesta Beach Hotel.
Each of the organisations were handed $1,500 except for the St. Brendan's Amenities Committee which received $500.
The money for STAR will be used to help children of AIDS victims.
Recipients of the money were Mrs. Gloria Pearman, trustee of the Packwood Home, Mrs. Mary Jane Coelho of St. Brendan's, Mrs. Marionette DeShields of Agape House, Police Sgt. Albert Dowling, volunteer for STAR, and the Hon.
Albert Jackson for the Council Partners and the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association.
