St. David's is the place for music lovers!

took the St. David's cricket field by storm last night in the first part of what has been billed the "biggest show ever.'' Jill Bascome, who is part of a team including Shawn Perrott's TOC music promotions and Star Time among others, said the promoters want the show to get even bigger -- eventually becoming an attraction for tourists.

The Lord's cricket field was transformed into a carnival ground complete with novelty and food stalls.

" We hope the event makes history,'' Bascome told The Royal Gazette . "We are aiming to give local entertainers exposure and experience.

"Unlike the concert last year, this year's event has two differences. There will be no instrumental changeover. All the artists will be using the same sound system.

"There are also food stalls. The food and novelty stalls were included to encourage families. Last year, we had a lot of young people. This year we want to make it a family affair.'' "We don't anticipate any problems,'' Bascome added, "although security will be tight.'' Tickets priced at $45 each, can be purchased from Sound Advice, Chris Kross Records and Jeans Plus.

Gates open at 6.30 p.m., Tonight's performers include Cocoa Tea, Cutty Ranks, Papa San and Little Lenny.
