Surgical nurses honoured

King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's spokesperson Kendaree Burgess Fairn said Operating Room Nurse Week celebrated the contributions made by the 30 full-time and two part-time care givers.

The staff, along with the operating department, completes approximately 7,500 operations each year.

Throughout the week, under the theme `A Tradition of Excellence Lights the Path to the Future'', posters will be displayed in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's entrance hall.

Ms Burgess Fairn said that a celebratory lunch will also be held at the hospital to pay honour to the nurses.

And the staff members will also take to the airwaves to alert the public to the role of the operation room nurse.
