Organisers hope to raise $45,000 to refurbish the Pembroke Rest Home. The first swimmers will enter the water at 12.45 p.m. from the Aquarium and will attempt to swim clockwise around the Sound -- a distance of 10 kilometres.

Other entrants will attempt distances of 7.25K, 4K and 2K.
