Ouida Bean said yesterday.

And Ms Bean -- who staged the special holiday expo for the Meyer Group's travel arm -- said: "It went very well.

"It was a fun day and everybody seemed to be getting all the information they wanted.'' Meyer brought in experts from nearly 30 companies the firm does business with -- from car rental firms to cruise lines and airlines.

And local retailers also chipped in with displays of the latest in leisure and holiday wear.

Ms Bean said: "It's a way of getting the Bermudian public informed of the travel options out there.

"And bringing in the professionals we represent allows them to get first-hand information from the experts.'' Reps from Australian national carrier Qantas, the Malaysian Tourism Association, Cunard Cruise Lines, Hertz car hire, as well as Marriott and Fitzpatrick hotel groups were all among those on hand to give out travel advice.

And the latest addition to Meyer's overseas partners -- bargain travel firm Travel Savers -- also sent representatives.

Meyer's staff -- equipped with computers set up in the No. 1 Shed in Hamilton for the Saturday event -- were also available to take on-line bookings.

Ms Bean said: "We hold these events about every two years -- and this was very successful and drew as large a crowd as others we have had.'' Meyer boss Henry Hayward added that, in an age dominated by the Internet, the exhibition gave members of the public the opportunity to meet with travel experts face to face.
