It was the second Bermuda Building Design Awards ceremony to be held and receiving honourable mentions were Mr. Gary Simmons and design firm Barker and Linberg.

The awards were given for a house designed by Mr. Simmons, on Spanish Point, and for the Bank of Butterfield Trader's Gate Building on Front Street, designed by Barker and Linberg.

The awards are sponsored by Bermuda Commercial Bank and The Bermudian and are in their second year.

They were open to architects, draftsmen, designers, developers and even homeowners who designed or built a house or commercial property between May 1994 and April 1995.

Yesterday, Mr. Sjur Linberg, a partner in Barker and Linberg, said he was extremely pleased to be honoured by the awards.
